Notch: Bethesda Lawyers Claim "Scrolls" as Trademark Infringement

In an early morning tweet, Notch (aka Markus Persson) alleged that lawyers representing Bethesda Softworks had contacted him, claiming that his upcoming game "Scrolls" infringes on The Elder Scrolls V trademark. "Just got a letter from Bethesta's (sic) lawyers," the tweet reads. "They claim 'Scrolls' infringes on their trademark and everyone will confuse it with Skyrim."

Borderlands 2 Officially Announced

2K Games and Gearbox Software have officially announced that the sequel to Borderlands is currently in development. The aptly named Borderlands 2 is slated for release on Xbox 360, PS3, and PC on 1 April, 2012. It remains to be seen whether this release date becomes an April Fools' Day joke due to postponement.

New Gears of War 3 Trailer: Horde 2.0

Epic Games has released a new trailer featuring the new Horde mode. While perhaps not particularly educational, it is, admittedly, pretty freakin' badass. I mean, who doesn't get pumped watching Fenix and friends sawing through and gunning down waves upon waves of those Locust bastards? I know I do. In any case, it helps keep the edge off of the drought just a bit, and makes me reeeeeally want it to be 20 September. Now.

What Really Matters: Skyrim. Because Duh.

Alas, we find ourselves in the Great Drought Times, parched and weary, desperate for even the tiniest bit of action in the video game world. It is a sad time indeed. The Outlaw's Favorite Game Moments: The Beginning of Arkham Asylum

Having been on hiatus for about a week, there's a very good chance that the last thing I wrote about was Arkham City. I've said it before and I'll say it again, Batman is my favorite comic book character and he could beat up your dad. My point is I'm sorry if I'm sounding like a broken record (kinda), but I'm going to continue this trend.

The opening to Arkham Asylum is one of those things that it's hard for me to describe. It's short on overall gameplay, but the presentation is simply top notch. It sets up the tension perfectly and even foreshadows one of the more anxious sections of the game. Couple that with some of my favorite voice actors from the animated series which is undeniably one of the best shows of all time (and I don't just mean in the animated category), and you have something that seems hand-crafted for me and all the other Batman fans out there. BEHOLD!
