Borderlands 2 Officially Announced

2K Games and Gearbox Software have officially announced that the sequel to Borderlands is currently in development. The aptly named Borderlands 2 is slated for release on Xbox 360, PS3, and PC on 1 April, 2012. It remains to be seen whether this release date becomes an April Fools' Day joke due to postponement.

Not many details were divulged. The game will feature "all new characters, skills, environments, enemies, weapons, and equipment," which is rather vague and unsurprising. But the main point is, we'll be getting a sequel to Borderlands, which means you and your friends can once again roam around a wasteland causing mayhem and destruction. Yay!
